The Brief
We were approached by an agency seeking an experienced Event Design Studio to create a completely bespoke Bat Mitzvah concept for a funky, music-led celebration. With a brief centred on originality and personality, our Bar and Bat Mitzvah party planner knew this was a project perfectly aligned with our creative approach, and we were excited to bring the vision to life.
At the heart of the design was the birthday girl herself. Her passion for music and art became the foundation of the concept, with a strong focus on modern Rock ’N Roll influences paired with expressive, hand-drawn doodle elements. Our team translated these inspirations into a bold visual identity, combining graphic artwork, creative textures and personalised details to ensure the celebration felt entirely unique and reflective of her style.
Working closely with the agency and family, we developed a fully immersive Bat Mitzvah event design, incorporating custom décor, graphic installations, and bespoke styling throughout the space. Every element was intentionally designed to feel contemporary, energetic, and age-appropriate, while still delivering the polish expected of a luxury event.
The celebration took place at Ministry of Sound’s private members club, a striking venue defined by exposed brickwork, metal pipework, and an industrial aesthetic. Rather than masking these features, our brief was to enhance them, using the venue as a cool, modern canvas. By layering our design concept into the existing architecture, we maximised the impact of the space and created a cohesive, high-energy Bat Mitzvah party that felt effortlessly stylish and truly one of a kind.
What We Did – Room 1 & 2
We designed a creative event journey for the guests to move through, discovering elements of the concept as they make their way through each of the event spaces.
Room 1 was dedicated to Rock ’n Roll featuring a fabulous neon centrepiece for the event. Twisted LED rope lights swirled up and around each of the venue pillars, creating an elaborate doodle installation across the ceiling overhead. Bespoke microphone, guitar, and rock hand neon signs were hung at the top of each pillar, all lit in a stylish red and green colour palette. Stacks of custom build deep red Amplifier props were set in front of the stage, each individually printed with Danielle’s name. As a finishing touch a custom-built, sound reactive, neon event logo hung centrally upstage.
The guests then moved into Room 2, which we transformed into slinky and disco ball heaven! Large silver and gold disco balls were positioned across the ceiling space, surrounded by colourful clusters of vibrant rainbow slinkies, which the guests absolutely loved. The decor was hung at varying heights for maximum impact, with a trio of large prop paint pots seemingly pouring swathes of multi-coloured paint down into the room.
What We Did – Room 3
Room 3 was designed as an Art Attack immersive Dessert Room – a final wow factor to be revealed at a key moment. As the drape was thrown open the guests were thrilled by the colourful decor and luxurious sweet treats! The Dessert Station was based on the concept of Art in Motion with desserts displayed on a wave of paint seemingly sweeping across a counter adulating to create different layers. A matching design was applied to cover the bar in situ and turn it into a dessert serving station. A bespoke built topper of dripping paint covered the whole bar and overhead a dramatic installation of paintbrushes dipped in colourful paints was hung. Two giant custom-made paintbrush props were positioned either side of the bar, both of course printed with Danielle’s event logo.
We wanted to offer an immersive Bat Mitzvah experience finale and designed and build an impressive 7m Doodle Wall with themed flooring adapting the design using the family’s chosen wording and doodle imagery. Matching branded plinths were provided with pots of felt tip pens, meaning guests had a great time adding their own personalised messages for Danielle onto the wall at the end of the party. A meaningful and one-of-a-kind Bat Mitzvah keep-sake.
Highlights
Building a unique ‘Welcome Photo Wall’, which was backed by a striking black and white doodle design and elevated with 3D bespoke pouring paint pots and colourful paint splash props.
The amazing colour changing neon signage over the stage that pulsated to the rhythm of the music as the band played onstage was strikingly cool.
The fun spread by our playful installations of hanging Rainbow Slinkys that the guests couldn’t resist pulling on to ‘boing’, as they passed underneath.
Our creative event production team loved designing the giant paint pot plinth, with art pallet topper, for the chocolate fountain.
The cute ways our brand design team incorporated the event logo – from custom print cushions to bespoke neon signs, to decals on paint pots and foil prints on giant paint brushes.
The bliss and hype created by the interactive doodle wall was a fabulous finale and event highlight. Enjoyed by all!
