The Brief
Boo Productions was commissioned to design and deliver a visually stunning, interactive, and immersive exhibition space for the Pokémon Tournament at the Excel Centre.
The goal was to fully transport visitors into the vibrant world of Pokémon, combining functionality with creative flair. This involved designing and constructing bespoke flats and structures, including custom-built check-in desks and kit collection booths.
Throughout the exhibition hall, we created multiple themed photo opportunity areas, allowing attendees and participants to engage with iconic Pokémon elements in a fun and memorable way. Our design and installation approach had to accommodate the scale of this high-profile international event, while also adhering to the logistical constraints of the ExCeL Centre. With a strict timeframe to work within, we executed the project efficiently, coordinating every aspect of the build to meet tight deadlines without compromising on quality or impact.

What We Did
To meet the ambitious brief for the Pokémon Tournament at the ExCeL Centre, Boo Productions tackled a range of creative and logistical challenges with precision and expertise.
The project involved the construction of over 80 meters of bespoke flats, with bespoke printed artwork, which formed the check-in desks and kit collection booths. Each component had to align perfectly, both structurally and visually. Our team engineered these flats to be modular and adaptable, allowing seamless integration during on-site assembly through precise measuring and fitting techniques.
Transporting the large-scale set required strategic planning. With over 3,000 meters of wood and 10,000 screws involved, we opted for an arctic lorry to deliver all components safely and efficiently. This ensured the materials arrived intact, properly organized, and ready for rapid assembly. During construction, we relied on a combination of skilled craftsmanship, a modular approach, and a highly organized workflow to meet tight deadlines while maintaining structural integrity and a polished finish.
What We Did
Creating themed photo opportunity areas was another core part of the brief. We designed and installed several interactive and visually striking themed zones featuring life-size Pokémon elements, strategically placed throughout the venue for maximum engagement and accessibility.
Finally, the on-site assembly process had to be fast, efficient, and non-disruptive. Our dedicated team of builders, printers and project managers worked in tandem, coordinating the modular flat setup alongside the installation of photo op areas. This phased and synchronized approach ensured the entire build was completed ahead of schedule, with every detail aligned to create an immersive and impactful Pokémon experience.
