Inspired by the rich customs of the Asian Moon Festival, the décor transforms the venue into a serene, glowing oasis. Our bespoke venue decorating team described it as a true joy to transform the cool London venue, Hawker House, into a modern reimagining of the traditional Pop Art theme. Taking a fresh, creative approach to a concept that’s been explored many times before, we collaborated closely with our client to curate a striking, contemporary colour scheme of blues, greens, and yellows, enhanced by elegant whites and bold accent colours, ensuring the design felt both modern and timeless.

This event design went beyond just the physical set, creating an immersive Pop Art experience for all guests. One of the highlights was the live performance by speed artists, who created stunning works of pop art right before the eyes of the audience. Meanwhile, an upbeat urban soul band set the tone, keeping the energy high throughout the evening. But the fun didn’t stop there guests themselves became works of art, as our talented makeup artists transformed them into iconic pop characters, setting the stage for a one-of-a-kind experience. The evening culminated with guests entering the infinity photo booth, where they were styled by our quirky photographer for their personal pop art-inspired shoot. This event design was not just visually stunning but interactive, giving every guest a chance to step into the world of Pop Art. We were thrilled to see this creative project receive the recognition it deserved by winning Gold at the EVCOM Event Awards, a testament to our team’s passion and dedication to delivering truly unique and unforgettable event experiences.

The design process focused on transforming the existing staircase into an immersive feature that reflected the event’s Neon Jungle theme.

The initial concept sketch explored how cascading greenery could soften the hard architectural lines, creating the impression of an urban jungle overtaking the space. The challenge was to enhance the character of the brutalist stairs through temporary décor without altering the permanent structure. A key design consideration was the Roundhouse’s requirement that all foliage be real, with faux planting prohibited. This informed both the planting palette and installation strategy, resulting in a lush composition of live trailing vines and tropical plants that introduced texture, movement, and authenticity.

Warm integrated lighting was carefully positioned to highlight the natural foliage, creating depth and enhancing the atmosphere after dark. The finished installation successfully realised the original concept, demonstrating how thoughtful styling, lighting, and live planting can dramatically transform an existing architectural feature into a striking experiential centrepiece.”
