The Brief

Medianett approached us to create an immersive awards experience for their client at the prestigious Hurlingham Club, transforming the venue into a memorable environment that would celebrate achievement while delivering a strong sense of occasion from the moment guests arrived.

Central to the brief was the creation of an impactful arrival sequence that immediately immersed attendees in the event theme and set the tone for the evening ahead. Beyond the entrance, we were tasked with designing a distinctive awards stage that would provide a striking backdrop for presentations, complemented by themed room décor that flowed seamlessly throughout the venue.

Live actors were to play an integral role in bringing the concept to life, interacting with guests, and enhancing the overall experience. Finally, the brief called for the transformation of the Club’s outdoor space into an inviting post-ceremony destination, giving guests a relaxed and atmospheric setting in which to socialise, celebrate and extend the event well into the evening.

What We Did

Our creative approach centred on creating genuine immersion by making the guests themselves part of the adventure. Rather than relying solely on static décor, we strategically placed professional safari actors throughout the experience to bring the theme to life at every stage of the evening.

The entrance façade established the mood, but the real highlight began as guests “set off on safari” in a beautifully restored vintage Jeep, escorted by our charismatic safari guides. This unexpected arrival experience immediately broke the ice, creating memorable photo opportunities and setting an exciting tone for the night ahead.

As guests ventured further into the event, they encountered additional characters who shared tales of daring expeditions, posed for photographs, and interacted naturally with attendees, ensuring the immersive narrative continued long after the welcome experience.

What We Did

Our approach to the event design went well beyond the expected. Alongside authentic safari tents, African flora, animal sculptures, and carefully curated styling, we created an awards stage that became a destination in its own right.

A spectacular living backdrop, constructed entirely from fresh plants and flowers, provided a vibrant focal point for the evening, while the stage itself was built on a slow-moving revolve, allowing every guest in the room to enjoy changing perspectives of the presentations throughout the ceremony.

Additionally, to ensure no moment was missed, live cameras captured each speaker and winner on stage, with the footage streamed in real time to screens positioned around the venue. The result was an inclusive viewing experience where every guest could clearly see, hear and share in the celebrations, regardless of where they were seated.
